I was grocery shopping for dinner at the supermarket when two small children were running around in the deli section, and it looked dangerous. I thought they might knock something over, and sure enough, they bumped into a display and one item fell, scattering on the floor... It probably depends on the supermarket, but I think you're generally responsible for compensating if you damage or spoil a product! Although, most cases are likely settled through a private agreement between the individual and the store (-_-;)
