Still, we will be reborn as women again. ~ Synopsis ~ A group drama depicting the generational differences and emotional bonds between four mothers who survived lives of hardship as immigrants from their native China, and their four daughters born and raised as Americans. I saw it in my early 20s, before I became a mother. I watched it from my daughters' perspective, and it was a continuous stream of "I get it, I get it," leading to emotional investment and tears flooding down😭✨✨✨ The backstories of the four mothers were just too much, each with their own struggles 😭 But even though they all seem to be living ordinary lives, I thought that even happy-looking people around might have surprisingly complex lives too 🥲 I wonder if my perspective will change now that I'm a mother... Maybe I'll rewatch it sometime soon 👀
