About the anime I'm currently watching, 'Milky Subway'

The anime 'Galaxy Express Milky☆Subway' is a sci-fi comedy short animation, almost entirely produced by Yohei Kameyama, featuring a unique tempo and worldview. The story begins when the protagonists, arrested for violating galactic traffic laws, are ordered to clean an inter-planetary express train as community service. What should have been a simple task turns into a sudden runaway train, and the quirky cast of characters navigate a universe-spanning crisis relying solely on 'vibe and intuition' in a chaotic development. Boasting high popularity both domestically and internationally, its official YouTube channel has surpassed 150 million total views. Starting with its TV broadcast and streaming in 2025, it's generating buzz in various aspects, including a theatrical release with new cuts in 2026 and multiple collaborations.
