Why do I only get 1 gem per new game even when using a gem booster? ð I don't really understand how it works.

The gems being one by one is likely a penalty from the developers... In games that aren't idle games, if you leave the game running to earn gems, you might receive penalties for unfairly acquiring them. Have you perhaps fallen asleep with the game open or stepped away from your seat?
