I think they're doing a pretty good job, though

The Giants didn't win the championship this year, but I think they're doing a pretty good job. Cleanup hitter Okamoto → went to the majors Ace pitcher Togō → delayed start due to last year's slump, returned but got injured and left. Second starter Yamazaki → injured before opening day and missed it, returned but got injured again. Also, the three foreign pitchers, Wittgren, Howard → injured and left, they performed well when they could pitch, but none of them could hold their spot in the rotation. Relief pitcher Ōzei → out from July Second baseman Yoshikawa → injured and out from opening day Second baseman Urata → filled in at second base for Yoshikawa, was a candidate for stolen base king + rookie of the year, but got injured late in the season and left. Manager Abe → fired mid-season for assaulting his daughter
