Gilgamesh (2003)

This is a TV anime based on Shotaro Ishinomori's manga of the same name, with its setting significantly rearranged into a modern/near-future sci-fi style 🎶 It was an intense experience where my head was full of question marks, yet I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Unlike typical anime, 'Gilgamesh' offers no straightforward catharsis (sense of exhilaration) like 'defeating the enemy and resolving everything!'. It's filled with jargon, and the characters each act based on their own philosophies and egos, making it seem truly 'incomprehensible' at first glance. Still, the reason I watched it until the end might be because of the work's 'ineffable, strange charm (magic)'?? Even now, seeing the ending leaves me thinking 🤔 Spoiler ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ It's recommended for those who like bad endings.
