[Review] Elden Ring ~Become Lord~

If Elden Ring ~The Path to the Golden Tree~ is Elden Ring elevated to comedy, then this Elden Ring ~Become Lord~ follows the canon perfectly. The art style is beautiful, and most importantly, it's full color. You can vividly see the battle scenes with various bosses. The downside is that it's too short. I feel like it would have been fine to show more bosses. The protagonist eventually becomes the Elden Lord. Since it's already like this, I wish they'd release the Dark Souls series as a manga too. Dark Souls also has a grand worldview, and its boss monsters are incredibly charming. Personally, I think the Dancer of the Boreal Valley is the best boss. She's one of the bosses I find truly beautiful. Since Sekiro even got a manga as a side story, I think it's reasonable for Dark Souls to get one too.

[Review] Elden Ring ~The Road to the Erdtree~

While it follows Elden Ring's main storyline well, it's a gag manga. I've uploaded a small preview of the beginning. The art style is fantastic, and it includes all the events that fans of Elden Ring would naturally know. But it's incredibly funny. For instance, you get trounced by the Tree Sentinel, who isn't meant to be fought early on, just because you pick a fight with him in the starting area. You might even get an item by pleasing Godrick the Grafted. It's a masterpiece boasting outstanding artwork, properly understanding the story and elevating it into comedy. Even those who enjoyed playing Elden Ring or watched it through videos will find it highly entertaining. Will the protagonist, Asseo, truly become the Elden Lord? Or, it seems like a manga that would be enjoyable even if he doesn't. I highly recommend it to any Elden Ring fan.

[Review Anime Ep 1 Spoilers] Oshi no Ko

This is the anime famous for YOASOBI's song 'Idol'. The protagonist, Gorou Amamiya, is an obstetrician. He was working at a rural hospital, and he was fond of Sarina Tendouji, who was suffering from a brain tumor. Sarina was a huge fan of Ai Hoshino, and Gorou also became a huge fan of Ai. One day, a woman came to the OB/GYN with a middle-aged man. That woman was none other than Ai Hoshino. Hoshino Ai was pregnant and wished to give birth. Gorou promised to do his best and helped her, but when she went into labor, she was murdered by an assailant. Similarly, Sarina also died from her brain tumor. The two are reincarnated as Ai Hoshino's twins, and are named Aquamarine Hoshino and Ruby Hoshino, respectively. Ai, who continued her idol activities while hiding her pregnancy, is murdered by a stalker at her home. Aqua couldn't forgive the father who let their mother die, and dives into the entertainment industry for revenge. Bring tissues for the last episode.

[Review] The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao's Palace Mysteries

If the previous Apothecary Diaries was about tax evasion, this one is about tax payment. Since the original novelist's work is also included here, this must have been contracted first. The art style is inferior to the tax evasion one, but you get used to it after a while. And the novel version's content is much more detailed here. The story progresses a bit further than the tax evasion one. According to the original novelist, Jinshi was originally supposed to die, but a huge fan among his relatives cried and said that couldn't happen, so the ending was changed. The novel is nearing its conclusion, so if you're a true fan, I recommend reading the novel. Personally, I want a perfectly happy ending, but the author mentioned it might end a bit ambiguously. Unless everyone has Chainsaw Man syndrome, I hope they give us a solid ending. I can't wait to see Jinshi and Maomao's sweet interactions in the manga. Personally, I think it's a masterpiece.

[Review] The Apothecary Diaries

The Apothecary Diaries is a hot anime that comes to mind recently. It's very popular, and a third season has already been confirmed. For reference, this manga has two versions: the tax evasion version and the tax payment version. Refer to Namu Wiki for details. This is the tax evasion version. The content is a bit thin, but the art style is so excellent that the anime was also produced based on this art style. The protagonist, Maomao, was working as an apothecary in the pleasure district. However, she was kidnapped while gathering medicinal herbs and was sold to the inner palace. Maomao was trying hard to adapt, knowing she could return to her original life in just two years, but her curiosity as an apothecary couldn't be suppressed. So, she ended up solving incidents that occurred within the inner palace, and because of that, she was discovered by the eunuch Jinshi as the one who solved the case. And Maomao went from being a low-ranking maid doing laundry to become a handmaid for Lady Gyokuyou, one of the four consorts. It's incredibly fun. For reference, the original light novel is even more fun. The manga progresses slowly, so if you're in a hurry, read the light novel.

[Review] Higurashi: When They Cry

Ryukishi07's masterpiece. A true masterpiece. It was also a huge success as an anime. If the anime adaptation of "Umineko: When They Cry" hadn't been so poorly done, it would likely have been much more well-known. Ryukishi07 also worked as a story writer for Silent Hill F. If you're unfamiliar with Ryukishi's style, you might find it polarizing. For the record, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. A characteristic of "Higurashi: When They Cry" is that all major chapter titles end with "-shi" (meaning 'time' or 'death' in Japanese). Also, in the manga adaptation, each chapter has a different illustrator. Furthermore, the question arcs are depicted with black covers, while the answer arcs have white covers. The answer arcs deliver an incredible sense of satisfaction and dopamine rush. "It connects... like this...?" The first time I saw it, it was pure shock. By the way, the original work is a Steam game, so you can enjoy it as a game. The story is simply about investigating bizarre incidents occurring in Hinamizawa and finding the culprit. "Who is the culprit?" is the starting point and the biggest spoiler. It's a loop-based story where you only reach a happy ending once you discover the culprit.

[Review] The Unaware Saintess Unconsciously Leaks Power Again Today

First off, the art style gets a pass. If you've only seen the anime, I highly recommend reading the manga. Protagonist Carolina Sanchez was being bullied by her older sister, Flora Sanchez. The reason was that Flora wanted to use Carolina to show how superior and kind she was. Flora was a highly praised individual in the Celestia Kingdom, destined to become the future saintess, and was outstanding in both appearance and holy magic. Carolina was asked by the King of the Celestia Kingdom to marry the second prince of Marcoceus to restore diplomatic relations, and Carolina agreed. Carolina left the Celestia Kingdom to marry the second prince, Edward Ruby Martine, rumored to be cruel and ruthless. Around that time, disasters began to befall the Celestia Kingdom: poor harvests, attacks by monsters, plagues, etc. And Flora's holy magic also began to lose its power... There are many manga featuring saintesses. However, few have such exquisite art. If you want to feast your eyes, I recommend reading it.

Phoenix

This is [Phoenix], a masterpiece by Osamu Tezuka, the god of Japanese manga, who also created numerous other masterpieces such as Astro Boy, Black Jack, and Kimba the White Lion. Serialized throughout his life from 1954 until his passing in 1988, this work is acclaimed as a timeless masterpiece, showcasing humanity's futile greed and the Buddhist concept of reincarnation from a cosmic perspective through the medium of the phoenix, all within a meticulously crafted narrative structure that interweaves past and future. Although left unfinished upon the author's death, it became even more famous for its open ending, which coincidentally aligns with the work's worldview. While it may seem dated and simplistic by today's standards, you'll likely be amazed if you keep in mind that this manga began serialization over 50 years ago.

Return of the Mount Hua Sect

This is a martial arts web novel by author Bi-ga, and also a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of Cheongmyeong, the Great Plum Blossom Sword Saint of the Mount Hua Sect, who, after falling in battle against the great demon Cheonma, is reincarnated 100 years later in the body of a child to rebuild the fallen Mount Hua Sect. Compelling Characters: The protagonist, Cheongmyeong, isn't a typical righteous warrior. Instead, he's a foul-mouthed character obsessed with money and alcohol – a 'morally bankrupt' individual who delivers satisfying, 'cider-like' moments. Overwhelming Immersion and Action: The visualization of the Mount Hua Sect's signature Plum Blossom Sword technique, grand battle scenes, and the intense sect loyalty and camaraderie unique to martial arts stories provide a moving experience. Refreshing Fast Pacing: The story resolves conflicts through skill and satisfying moments rather than complex political maneuvering. The gradual yet certain rebuilding process, as the sect's disciples grow, offers immense satisfaction. Pacing in a Long-Running Series: Due to its nature as a long-running series exceeding 1000 chapters, there are criticisms that the pacing slows down or episodes become repetitive in the mid-to-late stages. This masterpiece lowers the entry barrier for traditional martial arts while perfectly capturing the inherent romance of the genre.
