Joy of Life starring Zhang Ruoyun! Season 3 is scheduled to air in 2027 haha I think many of you who watch Chinese dramas have probably seen thisㅋ I also got a lot of recommendations for this when I first startedㅋ It's an epic drama about a protagonist with memories and knowledge from modern times who is reincarnated into the ancient quasi-historical kingdom of Qing, and navigates through immense power struggles and conspiracies. The title 'Joy of Life' means 'the remaining years in Qing (time lived as a bonus)'. It's an exciting drama based on a popular web novel, unfolding in seasonsㅋㅋ The protagonist having memories from modern times makes some parts a bit like 'Huh?', butㅋㅋㅋ it's still fun. After watching this and thinking Zhang Ruoyun was good, I also looked up 'The Snowy Path of the Hero'ㅋㅋ It's available for streaming on TVING 🫠

Highly recommend this to those who enjoy palace intrigue dramas haha I think quite a few people have probably seen it lol Set during the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, it's a story about Wei Yingluo (Wu Jinyan) entering the Forbidden City to uncover the truth behind her sister's death, becoming a palace maid, overcoming various hardships within the palace, and eventually becoming an Imperial Consort who contributes to the prosperous Qianlong era. It also features quite comical situations, and I found myself chuckling at the scenes where the Qianlong Emperor is completely at Wei Yingluo's mercy ㅋㅋ You can also see a young Xu Kai in his early 20s ㅋㅋ Every time I watch Qing Dynasty dramas... the hairstyles.. haha I heard the actors shaved their heads to film that ㅜㅜ They must be amazing people 🤔 It's available to watch on TVING, Wavve, and Watcha.

The 2021 drama "The Long Ballad" Many of the actors who starred in it have now become major leads in other productions haha Dilraba Dilmurat, Leo Wu, Zhao Lusi, Liu Yuning Actor Leo Wu After watching this, I watched Nirvana in Fire... he was just too cute lol The story is~ After the founding of the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin (later Emperor Taizong), who aims to establish the Tang Dynasty, eliminates his brother and sister-in-law, but spares his niece, Princess Yongning, Li Changge (Dilraba Dilmurat), whom he personally educated. Changge, whose family was suddenly massacred, tries to make plans while traveling through Youzhou and Shuozhou for personal revenge against those who killed her family. However, she gradually faces the crisis of the common people and the nation, And depicts her growth as a princess who cares for the country while resolving these issues. A drama that can be called Changge's journey of overcoming hardships and adversity haha It's based on a comic, so there are parts in the drama where the situation is explained through animation lol It's quite unique lol You can watch it on Netflix and TVING lol

It's "Reborn to Be King" starring Dylan Wang and Peng Xiaoran! It's a regression story where Dylan Wang, a struggling office worker in modern times, regresses to the past while imprisoned in a jail cell. He navigates that era using various abilities such as scientific knowledge from modern times and investigative skills learned from dramas. It's a drama full of protagonist power, haha. It has many comedic elements, so you can watch it while laughing ㅋㅋ A little spoiler ㅋㅋ The actor who played the 3rd Prince in "Love Better Than Immortality" appears in this drama in a role where only his back is shown repeatedly, with no face reveal ㅋㅋ It's a drama you can watch lightly with a chuckle. I think it used to be on Netflix... but it's only on Tving and Watcha. Highly recommend, highly recommend ㅎㅎ

This is my undisputed number 1 Chinese drama. I think I've watched it at least three times. Zhao Lusi is my favorite, and after watching this, I even looked up and watched Chen Zhe Yuan's dramas 😆 It's a story about the female lead falling in love with her brother's friend. The drama is so full and rich. Just the right amount of story, just the right amount of sadness, just the right amount of comfort, and overflowing romance. I feel like the story is distributed so appropriately! 😊 The biggest advantage is that there are no parts that feel useless and can be skipped! Every single scene is a treasure! Chinese dramas are often long and have a lot of repetitive parts that make you skip them... 🤔 This one is a modern drama with fewer episodes, so I highly recommend it! Apparently, the original work is very famous in China. This work became a hit and led to a series~ I heard it's number 1 in viewership for modern Chinese dramas! Let's enjoy this sweet and bittersweet drama together! 😉

I got into Chinese historical dramas after watching 'The Legend of Zhen Huan' (also known as 'Empresses in the Palace'). Has anyone else seen this one?? I've rewatched it countless times, and I still watch it occasionally when I think about it lol It's an older drama, but the production scale is huge, and it's really glamorous... and beautiful... After starting with this, I ended up watching a lot of Chinese historical dramas and palace intrigue dramas. What was everyone else's first Chinese historical drama?

OMG, does anyone know about Nanhong???? It's a crazy Chinese drama on Netflix... Bai Jingting's visuals are absolutely stunning, and the story is so solid that I'm completely hooked!!! You guys HAVE to watch it, please.

I think I've watched this at least 3 times lol I wish another drama like this would come out ㅜㅜ ㅋㅋ The main actors are Yu Yanran and Bai Jingting. The setting is that the Nine Heavens are divided, and the Divine Heavens rule from the center. It's like a feudal system. The drama begins with selecting brides for the princes of the Divine Heavens through a selection of talented women from each regional kingdomㅋㅋ Yu Yanran is a representative country girl who goes crazy for foodㅋㅋ Bai Jingting plays the 6th prince, who is sickly with stomach problems and has no presenceㅋㅋ The other characters are funㅋㅋㅋ There's the 3rd prince who looks foolish but is only obsessed with his own beauty, the sloppy 5th prince who gets pushed around like a punching bag everywhere, etc. It's a drama where the characters' unique traits are fun and make you smileㅋㅋ It's on Netflix and TVING. Highly recommend recommend 👍

Has anyone seen Peach Blossom Spring?? I started watching it last night after stumbling upon it on Netflix, and I'm already on episode 8. It's still fun, but... I'm curious when the main characters will start liking each other.

The Golden Age of the Queen (40 episodes) (OTT) Netflix Many people have recently gotten into Chinese dramas, and I think most of them fell in love after watching The Golden Age of the Queen ㅎㅎ The main characters are Jun Hui-mi and Zhang Linghe, famous for being a beautiful couple in China, and their visual chemistry is amazing. Brief Plot Summary The story begins when a very strong female lead saves the male lead. The female lead needs a live-in son-in-law to protect her family, and the male lead needs a place to hide his identity, so they enter into a fake marriage. But it turns out the male lead is hiding his strength... It's funny how the female lead carries and protects the male lead, who pretends to be sickly. Then, they gradually fall in love with each other. The first 1-8 episodes might be a bit boring, but if you can get through that part, it becomes super fun. You start thinking it's a rom-com, but you get more and more invested in the story as it progresses.. If you've already watched The Golden Age of the Queen.. I recommend Jun Hui-mi's other work, My Lethal Man, and Zhang Linghe's other work, Till The End Of The Moon. I'll review those two next time.
