Vicious Forest Mosquitoes
Now that the heatwave has broken, mosquitoes have appeared. I got bitten 5 times while exercising by the Han River. Even at home, mosquitoes and I are close enough that I can handle them all. I'm not talking about house mosquitoes now, but forest mosquitoes. They are common in mountains and by rivers. Their official name is Aedes japonicus. Pretty picture, right? They have black bodies with white stripes, so they're also called Adidas mosquitoes or three-stripe mosquitoes. These guys are incredibly vicious and persistent. They'll chase you even if you try to shoo them away, and once they land on your skin, they won't let go until you kill them. They're completely different from house mosquitoes. What I hate even more is that they swell up and itch like crazy. To the point of agony. The solution is to apply a mosquito repellent cream as soon as you get home or lightly dab the bites with warm water. I usually get bitten when using exercise equipment, but no matter how desperately I shake my body, I can't seem to beat these pests.

It's like finding a needle in a haystack for welfare recipients to find a house too ㅠ
If you're on welfare and have bad credit, it's even harder to find a place. Screw it ㅠㅠㅠㅠ What's the point of living ㅠ

Do you believe in MBTI?
A while ago, someone posted an explanation of MBTI on the community board, and I really enjoyed reading it. I happened to take the test and found out I'm an INFP. I was obsessed with searching about it for a while, and apparently, INFP is the MBTI that believes in it the most, haha. Perhaps because it's more detailed than blood types, everything felt accurate. What made me particularly interested in MBTI wasn't about personality or temperament. It made me go 'aha!' when I thought about why I made certain choices in the past. It explained all the reasons why I had no choice but to make those decisions when things were tough. It felt like discovering a part of myself I didn't know. I could go back to that past self and pat them on the shoulder. 'It's okay. You could do that. It wasn't your fault.' I'm getting emotional again just writing this. I wanted to share this perspective because I've used it in this way.

Third Night View
The rain stopped again in the evening, so I ventured out. This is my third attempt at taking night photos. As soon as I stepped out, I turned on my phone and noticed light streaks again when I pointed it at a streetlight. Just as I suspected, I had bought two lens cloths for a dollar at the optician's. After cleaning the lens, there were no more issues. The lights from the Han River bridge and the streetlights were too intense, making it difficult to shoot. Night photography is really tough. Fearing I wouldn't get good results, I changed my plan and used a cheat code: I went up to Dalmajibong (Moon-gazing Peak). It's a small hill, but climbing the 300 steps, overcoming the 108 worldly desires, left me drenched in sweat. However, since the rain had stopped, the breeze was refreshing. I quickly snapped a photo of two couples embracing intimately in the pavilion at the summit and hurried back down. Night photography is challenging, but I'll get used to it if I only shoot night scenes during winter.

About Luck vs. Effort (70% Luck, 30% Effort) 🍀
'Unchil Gisam' (운칠기삼), literally '7 parts luck, 3 parts skill,' is an idiom stating that luck accounts for 70% and talent or effort for 30% of success or failure. You can hear this phrase often. It can be interpreted in two ways: First, as optimism, suggesting that you need to prepare and wait to seize opportunities when luck comes. It aligns with 'Heaven helps those who help themselves.' Second, as pessimism, implying that it's difficult to achieve anything if luck isn't on your side. In reality, some large corporation chairmen have confessed that luck played a bigger role than expected. In the fierce K-pop girl group market, many talented groups never make it big; they're lucky if they go viral later. However, you can't just sit back and do nothing. 'Do your best and leave the rest to fate' (진인사대천명). Life is short; you have to try things. This doesn't mean striving until you burn out. Depending on your mindset, at least the anxiety of today will disappear, leaving happiness, won't it?

Something I've noticed every time I move
I'm from a vulnerable background, and every time I move, I notice that some community centers have a lot of people from vulnerable backgrounds, while others have hardly any. I've been thinking about it, and I feel like people from vulnerable backgrounds tend to move to neighborhoods where the community center staff are friendlier. Is it just me? Seriously.
