What if your car breaks down on the highway during the Chuseok holiday? Here's what to do!
Many of you are probably driving long distances during the Chuseok holiday, right? I'd probably panic too if my car suddenly broke down on the highway. In such cases, it's good to remember the number 1588-2504. This is the Korea Expressway Corporation's emergency towing number. If your vehicle breaks down or is immobilized due to an accident on the highway, call this number, and they will tow you to a safe location like a nearby rest area, service center, or a drowsy driving rest stop. Eligible vehicles include passenger cars, vans for 16 or fewer passengers, and trucks under 1.4 tons. The Korea Expressway Corporation covers the towing costs. However, if it's an emergency like an accident, injury, or fire, 119 would be the priority. Most importantly, if your car stops, turn on your hazard lights and evacuate to a safe place. It would be good to save 1588-2504 and 119 in advance before the Chuseok holiday.
