How can I best express my gratitude?
There's someone at work who gives me a ride home since we have the same direction after work, and I always feel so grateful. Instead of just saying thank you, I wanted to give them something small, so I was thinking of preparing a snack package. However, giving it only to that person while other colleagues are around makes me a bit concerned. So, I was wondering if it would be okay to give it to them naturally in the car when I get a ride home? Even if it's not a huge help every time, I feel it would be nice to express my gratitude in this small way. Of course, they're not giving me rides expecting anything in return, but I feel like I'm always receiving their kindness, so I want to express my own gratitude too. I think a very expensive gift might be burdensome, so I'm considering light snacks they can easily enjoy. Expressing your feelings isn't as easy as it seems. Still, I really want to convey my gratitude this time. What are some ways to express my thanks without being too burdensome? I'm also curious to hear opinions from those who have had similar experiences!

OMG, of course... I think they'd really like it. If you're giving them a ride, how about a simple diffuser or some snacks like you mentioned, like candies or jellies to help them stay awake? Also, when they get out, if there's any trash, offering to take it with you when you get out seems like a good idea!

That's so kind of you, and it's really sweet that you're even thinking about this! Don't worry about what others might think, just casually hand it over when they're getting out of the car. If it's an inexpensive, small snack, the person receiving it won't feel burdened and will surely be happy!

If I were the recipient, I think it would be really, really great~~

I don't drive, so I didn't know, but most people who drive say they appreciate it when you fill up their gas. Sometimes things like diffusers or small snacks would be nice too.

What a heartwarming post~ It might be nice to occasionally offer a cup of coffee and prepare some simple snacks for when they feel sleepy~

When I worked, I injured my face and only got rides in the morning. Since they seemed burdened by me offering to pay for gas, I bought them coffee every time I rode with them. I think food is the best 😅

I think it would be best to give it to them in the car when you get off work. The person giving you a ride will probably feel that Mumu appreciates it too haha

If it were me, I'd first try to figure out what they usually like. You can naturally learn if they drink coffee often or if they have a sweet tooth through casual conversation. Then, I'd prepare a small gift that suits their taste and give it to them as I get off the car on their way home. I'd say I know how grateful I am for them giving me rides every time, and I wanted to express that feeling. I don't think you need to worry about whether you should also take care of other employees!

Jeongmu-mu's thoughtfulness is truly commendable. haha I highly recommend it. It's really kind of them to accompany you. Be sure to show your appreciation with a small token of gratitude. haha Snacks would be nice too. It's getting chilly now, so how about socks, a scarf, or gloves? Accessories could also be good. It warms my heart to see such sincere generosity, and I'm happy for you too 😀 ^^ Looking forward to your review! 🙏 haha

That's a kind thought. Even small things would be appreciated. Many carpools break up over these kinds of issues.

Since you offered me a ride.. compliments about the car or your driving are also welcome.

I had the exact same experience when I was an intern. Although I didn't always get a ride, they did give me a lift quite often. Even when it was in the same direction, I felt grateful for their kindness but also a little awkward, so I gave them a gift certificate. I figured it was money I'd spend on bus fare anyway, so I bought a few tens of thousands of won worth of coffee gift certificates at a slight discount and sent them via text message with my thanks. Since it was a person of the opposite sex who gave me a ride, and they have a boyfriend, I guess I thought a text message would be better than a KakaoTalk gift at the time. I could have bought a KakaoTalk gift at full price, but as an intern with a low salary, it was better for me to save a little, and I didn't want to cause any minor misunderstandings or make a big deal out of it, so I did it that way!

I think it'll be fine! From the receiver's perspective, the thought of you trying to give them something will seem lovely. They'll probably be more touched because they can feel your sincerity ^^ I think they'll like it ㅎㅎ

Snacks are good if you're going to do it. Gifts might be a bit burdensome for each other, haha.
