Recent festivals are disappointing
Sigh... Recent festivals have so little to see or enjoy. I just ended up battling the heat and gnats. I recently visited the Imsil Cheese Festival, Herbal Medicine Festival, and Rice Festival, and all of them were disappointing. They used to have things like botanical gardens, but the Ochang Rice Festival I went to today only had a popcorn-making event related to rice, and only one corner at the end selling rice, which was ridiculously expensive at 150,000 won for 20kg. There was only one type of rice too. There were only a few kids' experience booths and absolutely nothing for adults. The bonsai viewing and sales area was a collaboration of chrysanthemums and bonsai, but none of them were in full bloom, mostly just buds and sparse, so there was nothing worth taking pictures of. The botanical garden was also just mediocre... The food seemed to be from food trucks, sold in various spots. The entrance area had hot food, but if you didn't know, other places had cold food and cost 1,000-3,000 won more than food trucks. The drinks were all made with frozen fruit; some places offered 2 cups for 5,000 won, while others charged 4,000 won for 1 cup... You really have to look carefully for these things too.

AuthorIn conclusion, there's nothing to enjoy. I won't be going to the next festival. I've had enough disappointment.

You went with high expectations but ended up just struggling. That decisiveness to do everything until you're disappointed and then quit is really solid.

All the food is the same, isn't it? It's just people who travel around the country doing this business...

AuthorOh right, the booths selling food don't even accept card payments, so you have to do bank transfer or just pay with cash. It's absurd because the food trucks that actually make the food accept cards... I guess they're doing it on purpose to get more money.

Saw the news again today, apparently 300 people got food poisoning from eating at a festival. Really, there are only a handful of properly run festivals out there.

My neighborhood has a lot of festivals too, but they don't seem very meaningful, so I end up not going.

I live in Busan, so I went to see the drone show in Haeundae. I didn't go out of my way to see it; I was just having dinner and strolling in Haeundae. Maybe because it was Arbor Day, they only showed boring things like 'Let's plant a tree' ๐ I heard it was spectacular when K-Drone Show was really popular before, so I had high expectations, but... After watching for about 10 minutes, I ended up going home. There's a Kimbap Festival in Gimcheon from the 23rd to the 25th of this month. If you like festivals, maybe you could consider it? ๐

That's right. Other things weren't that great, but the Gimje Horizon Festival this time was worth seeing.

They're just covering up their price gouging with the name of a festival. There are too many festivals these days.

There's a Chuncheon Dakgalbi festival next week, and after seeing Tzuyang's video from last year, I really want to go. I'm kinda looking forward to it lol

Festivals are basically just places to spend money... 20kg of rice for 150,000 won ใ กใ ก That's a bit much.

20kg of rice for 150,000 won??? What kind of rice is that? Wow, you must have been beyond disappointed, truly flabbergasted.
