T types, which of these two statements do you dislike more?

Why should I take your side? You're the one who messed up.

??? I'm the latter, sigh... Isn't just taking someone's side like ignoring them? I think offering solutions is true affection.

Obviously the second one. I don't even want to side with them, so why are they forcing me to take their side when they're the one who messed up? I think it's better to point out what they did wrong and suggest ways to fix it, but they're treating me like a criminal just because I didn't side with them once. I hate it when people demand support without trying to solve their own problems.

If I, an ESFP-T, were to hear something like this, 'You're not taking sides, but why are you asking me to pick a side? You're upset because I'm not siding with you. I called you, a problem occurred, and yet you're siding with a higher-up than me?' That alone would be hard to hear, but then to hear, 'Why on earth do you lack empathy?? All the other apartment staff can do it, so why can't you?' My first reaction would be to quit everything…. Maintaining a neutral stance is much harder than it looks….

Just thought of this, but if a really close friend asked, 'Can you just take my side?', I think I'd say, 'Nope, can't do that!'

I really hate it when people expect you to take their side even when their wrongdoing is obvious.

The former is a fact, but I think the latter is more likely because if the former said, "Why should I take your side when you're wrong?" they might get ghosted. 🤔

Number 2.. that's what my wife always says...

1. Why should I empathize? It doesn't seem like something that warrants empathy. First off, my opinion differs. 2. Does the world only function if we take sides? Conclusion: Yeah, I don't really care about either side. I'll just explain, based on the situation, why I can't empathize and why I can't take your side. I cannot vote..

I'm an INTJ. Why do you lack empathy? -> It doesn't sound very aggressive, and since it's a fact, I don't feel annoyed at all. Can't you just take my side? -> Just listening is a deep affection, and if you speak like that after I've offered solutions, I'll block you.
