I apologized, but they said they don't feel it's sincere.
T types, and a few F types! What do you do when you apologize, but the other person says they don't feel your sincerity? What if you admit you were wrong and sincerely apologize, but the other person says: "But why don't you seem sorry at all?" Even though you clearly apologized with all your heart, the other person just doesn't feel it. I even asked an ESTJ acquaintance about this, and they replied, "I apologized sincerely, so how am I supposed to prove it further?" And when I thought about it, they weren't wrong... Do you apologize again in this situation? Or do you feel like you've already apologized and don't know what else to do? As a strong F, I'm curious about the thoughts of T types.

If you feel a chill, cut ties.

If I say 'What on earth do you want me to do?', I feel like we'll end up fighting. (*๏ฟฃโ๏ฟฃ*)

If you say it like that... are you picking a fight? Round 2 incoming.

I feel like they're trying to pick a fight too... What more do they want me to do? lolololol

I'd probably say, 'We don't seem to get along, so let's not meet. I wish you happiness,' and then cut ties ๐๐

I'd probably start by asking why they felt that way. I admitted and apologized for my mistakes, but maybe they have a specific way they want an apology. I'd try to understand that part. However, if they just keep repeating that they don't feel my sincerity, it's a different story. They have the freedom to not accept my sincerity, but that doesn't mean I have an endless obligation to prove my remorse. I can apologize, and it's true that T players often get a bad rap for not knowing how to apologize or show gratitude, but ultimately, I believe forgiveness is up to the other person. But??? Apologizing endlessly to be forgiven isn't my style. In the end, even in this situation, my first word is 'Why?' lololol

If your friend doubts you and doesn't understand your feelings when you're being sincere, I think I'd be upset too. Since I'm not directly involved and can see this from a third-party perspective, I can say this, but how about taking a break for a day or two and then talking again? Give yourselves time to calm down from the hurt and think things over calmly. I've also regretted harsh words exchanged with a friend in anger after a few days. It doesn't have to be exactly one or two days, but taking a few days apart to think things through individually before talking seems like a good idea! However, be careful, as not talking for over a week could lead to ending the friendship! I hope things get resolved well!

I'm an INFJ. You'll probably say I did something wrong. "I made you wait too long, didn't I? Sorry I'm late ๐ฅ" Excuses are counterproductive; I think it's better to answer when they ask why. But there are people for whom such an apology doesn't work. I just cut ties with those people without any lingering attachment ๐คญ Getting involved with them only hurts me ๐

I guess I should stop dealing with people who only want you to understand them but don't bother trying to understand you themselves haha

If it's my fault, I'll apologize a bit more, but that just adds to my 'cut ties' stack... If I get tired of apologizing, I just give up. If time passes and things calm down, I'll try talking again. If they're still angry then, I'll probably just leave it be...

Even if you apologize sincerely, if they say they don't feel it and demand an apology, it'll likely lead to a second fight due to their mood disorder, after which you'll both cut ties.

Should I ask how to apologize sincerely and what they want me to do, and if it's possible, do it again, or just cut ties? It might be faster to just cut ties... I'm not looking for people who make me mentally exhausted.
