Since I had some free time on my day off, I rode my motorcycle from Sanmin and wandered all the way to Fongshan. Thinking about those old-fashioned snacks I haven't had in a while... So I bought a few taro cakes and red bean cakes (similar to a type of brown sugar cake with filling), and also a nine-layer cake and a savory caozi cake. When I got home, I saved a little bit for my colleagues at work tomorrow and gave the rest to my mother-in-law! (She loves them and pretended she hadn't had them in a long time, so she wanted me to buy them for her. So I did! I know what you're up to.)

Moon Banana City Handmade Egg Rolls (月亮香蕉城手工蛋捲) is a very representative old shop in Cishan Old Street, passed down for three generations since its establishment in 1945. Because this flavor has strong local characteristics, it not only won first place in the Cishan Business District Golden Monkey Award selection but also received recognition from the Kaohsiung City Government as an old and reputable merchant and an "Excellent Gourmet Souvenir" honor from the Economic Development Bureau. It was once designated as an official souvenir gift from the Kaohsiung City Government to foreign dignitaries. The shop has always insisted on purely handmade production without preservatives, taking a more down-to-earth approach that highlights the original flavor of the ingredients. This place is hidden next to Provincial Highway 9, you might easily drive past it 😂 The Mala Beef Noodles have a rich and slightly spicy broth, and the beef is tenderly stewed, and eating it with a platter of braised side dishes is just right to replenish your energy.
