I'm strict about keeping my routine even on holidays, so I went in the afternoon. Luckily, I got there early to look around, but it was as crowded as New Year's Eve. It was good that I came early to browse.

We walked on the sidewalk next to the mountain road, but the sidewalk was slippery and became really hard to walk on. My baby said, "Aren't we here to sightsee the old street? Why did it turn into a mountain climb?" So, I guess I'll have to treat my baby well once we get to the old street.

A great place in Taoyuan to see and feed capybaras, sika deer, jumping goats, and pot-bellied pigs, etc. No need to travel all the way to Yilan and squeeze with crowds. The entrance fee is only 150 NTD, which can be exchanged for two types of feed. The capybaras here are super energetic; my niece screamed when a capybara suddenly rushed at her. The staff also patiently explain feeding techniques and animal characteristics. Be especially mindful of the biting midges and the narrow entrance road where it's difficult for cars to pass each other. Follow the signs for U-turns precisely!

The first-floor special exhibition 'Same but Different' felt a bit monotonous and lacked interactivity and playability compared to the 'Square City' exhibition I saw online before. I was a little disappointed! I should check the exhibition details before visiting next time. The clay area on the second floor is suitable for young children, but the Chinese character interactive display in the hallway is more suitable for elementary schoolers and above. The children's library on the third floor has a wide collection suitable for a broad age range, but the 'Life Sculpture' area is a bit unclear about its purpose? Overall, some parts are suitable for toddlers and some for older kids. While it adds variety, having a little bit of everything makes it feel like there's not much to truly engage with. I hope for better exhibitions next time. The volunteer staff were friendly, and it was a super coincidence to meet a teacher from the King Oyster Mushroom Kindergarten!
