The Scarlet Minivet is a striking bird found in Taiwan's forests, primarily inhabiting low-altitude broadleaf forests. They often forage in groups among the treetops. Males have black heads and backs, gray cheeks and neck sides, with vibrant orange-red chests, bellies, and tails. Females replace the male's orange-red with yellow, making gender easily distinguishable. They mainly eat insects and frequently dart through branches with other birds to catch prey. When flying over the treetops, they resemble patches of red and yellow leaves drifting in the air. 🌿 Fun Fact Scarlet Minivets sometimes perch on trees in flocks, appearing from a distance like colorful leaves hanging from branches. They also build nests using materials like spider silk, lichens, and moss, often concealing them on branches where they blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

Time flies so fast. It's already October 15th, and October is more than half over. The end of the year is also approaching.

I work part-time at the library, and every night before closing, I have to check if anyone is left in the reading room. One night, I found an old, open photo album on the seat at the very back. It was filled with pictures of the library, from when the new building was completed to events over the years. When I turned to the last page, I froze. The photo showed the current reading room, but the date was twenty years ago. In the picture, a man was sitting in the back seat, looking down at a book. That face was exactly like mine. I immediately took it to the director and asked. After a glance, the director's expression suddenly darkened. "Wasn't this album sealed away long ago?" I pressed him about who the person in the photo was, but he only said, "After closing tonight, don't go into the reading room again." At 10 PM, I turned off all the lights and was about to leave when I heard the sound of pages turning behind me. I turned around and saw someone sitting in that seat. He looked up, revealing a face identical to mine. "You've finally arrived." I stood frozen. He pointed to the album on the table, and a new photo had been added to the last page at some point. In the photo, I was standing at the entrance of the reading room. And he was sitting behind me, smiling. The next day, the director was briefing the new part-timer on closing duties. "Remember to check the reading room. If you find an old photo album, whatever you do, don't turn to the last page."

Life is your own, don't live for the approval of others. The truly happy version of yourself is known only to you. Strive for yourself, and the hardships will eventually pass. Live as the person you like, and you can endure even sadness. Don't lose confidence just because you don't think you're good enough. The real strength is becoming yourself.

Song Huai and Xu An were childhood sweethearts, running a startup medical device company together. Just before the company secured tens of millions in funding, a sudden medical accident left the company with enormous compensation liabilities, and Song Huai faced astronomical debt and criminal investigation. As Song Huai despaired, Xu An suddenly appeared at the hospital with a competitor. With cold eyes, she publicly tore up their engagement contract, accusing Song Huai of being a useless burden, then presented a pre-prepared share transfer agreement, took all the cash, and left heartlessly. His reputation ruined, Song Huai fled overseas with a heart full of hatred and rose again through sheer grit. Years later, Song Huai returned to the country, brimming with arrogance, ready for 'revenge,' but was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden severe myocarditis and was on the brink of death. Fortunately, the hospital quickly found a perfect organ donor, and the heart transplant surgery was extremely successful. After recovering, Song Huai arrogantly sought out Xu An, wanting the 'vixen' from back then to see his current glory, only to find Xu An's photo in front of a cold stone tablet in a remote cemetery. The truth instantly shattered everything: Xu An had learned she had late-stage rare myocarditis. To prevent Song Huai from being crushed by debt, she staged the 'broken engagement' act, single-handedly shouldering the astronomical debt, and used all the money she raised as Song Huai's comeback fund. On her deathbed, she donated her heart to him. Song Huai knelt before the tombstone, feeling the heart that belonged to Xu An, still beating strongly in his chest, and was already sobbing uncontrollably.

Moving next door... Currently renovating, not yet open at the new location. Apparently, the corn soup here is made by the owner who sautés the ingredients before simmering, not just from powder or something.
