念念與小執
Suddenly realized it's been a while since I posted. This is the follow-up to the PV controversy.
1. Is the official team truly out of ideas to the point where 'inviting a wolf into the house' is the only phrase they could come up with? There were better choices for animal-themed puns, so why pick a word with negative connotations? 2. If they knew this phrase was controversial, why did they use it anyway? Unlike 'bathing in the pot,' 'bathing in the pot' at least leaves room for interpretation as a 'local custom.' But 'inviting a wolf into the house' has no ambiguity. It's inherently derogatory, inherently negative, and frames 'actively inviting trouble' as romantic. This exposes the official team's fundamental disregard for female players. For a game marketed towards women, not a single person during content planning thought that 'a stranger climbing through the window into a lone woman's home late at night' was problematic, that the phrase 'inviting a wolf into the house' was inappropriate, or that combining these two would offend their core audience. The only explanation is that they didn't think there was a problem. Or, they knew controversy would generate buzz, and buzz would generate revenue. Women's feelings were never part of their consideration. 'Inviting a wolf into the house' is originally a cautionary idiom, but in this plot, the intruder transforms into the male protagonist creating a heart-fluttering atmosphere. Trespassing isn't a romantic trope; it's a criminal offense clearly defined by law. In reality, a lone woman experiencing a stranger breaking in through her window late at night is a nightmare that would cause extreme fear.

Strangers barging into your home is a big no-no.
