Let's talk about the manga 'Happy Sugar Life' 🍬🔪

A yuri psychological thriller manga by Tomiyaki Keisuke, which has concluded. It was also adapted into a 12-episode TV anime in 2018. I've only read the manga, not watched the anime~ The story follows Shio Kobe, whom Satou Matsuzaka meets, and for the first time, she experiences a feeling called 'love'. To protect their sweet life together, she doesn't hesitate to take extreme measures, even crossing the boundaries of morality and law. Although the art style is very cute, the content is a dark story filled with twisted emotions. While Satou does many creepy things to protect her own happiness, she is very gentle and cherishes Shio, and there are many sweet and cute moments when they are together. This contrast between sweetness and madness is one of the work's major features. I got into it because I was interested in the yandere theme, and although I don't usually read many yuri works, I couldn't stop reading this one🤣 Looking back at my chat logs with friends from back then, I left reviews like: 'A yandere heroine's yuri story', 'The art style is super cute', 'Almost all the characters are messed up'. Thinking about it now, this work actually has many themes about love, obsession, and humanity worth pondering. Perhaps reading it again at my current age would bring different feelings, just like when I later read 'The Sin of OctoFresh' and could grasp something. However, my backlog is too long right now, so I don't plan on re-reading it anytime soon😆 If you like the strong contrast created by the cute art style and crazy plot, this work is definitely worth a try🍬🔪
