The People in the Wall 04 (Original Novel, Suspense)
After the rain stopped, the old Gao family apartment was already cordoned off. Led by Officer Zhou, Wang Jing'an entered the crime scene. A heavy smell of blood filled the house, and the messy living room was scattered with overturned furniture and broken teacups, as if a fierce struggle had occurred. The bathroom was even more shocking. The white tiles were splattered with dried bloodstains, the sink was shattered, and the mirror was broken. On the mirror surface, the words "He's back" were crookedly written in blood. Forensics initially determined that blood from at least two people was present at the scene, but no bodies were found. At this moment, a police officer brought in a broken pencil. Wang Jing'an immediately recognized it as the pencil Gao Zhenxiang had been holding during their consultation yesterday. He had been drawing the same picture repeatedly—a wall, a child, and a blurry figure standing behind the wall. Upon hearing this, Officer Zhou immediately listed the pencil as important evidence for examination. Subsequently, the forensic doctor used an ultraviolet light to examine the bathroom and found a large amount of wiped bloodstains on the floor, confirming that someone had deliberately cleaned the scene. Even more shocking, a small, blood-stained handprint, clearly belonging to a child, appeared at the bottom of the bathtub. Officer Zhou whispered, "The Gao family only has one child, Gao Zhenxiang. Who could have left this bloody handprint?" Looking at everything before him, Wang Jing'an couldn't help but recall the picture Gao Zhenxiang had repeatedly described. If the scene in the painting wasn't a fantasy but a reality, was something truly hidden behind the wall? As everyone fell silent, a faint knocking sound suddenly came from behind the tiled wall in the corner of the bathroom, as if someone was gently tapping from the other side of the wall.
