Save your resources, I've tested it myself. You can reach tens of millions even with around $7 spent. VIP is free, and monthly cards etc. are given based on accumulated top-ups. For new players: After completing the beginner's guide, you'll get a summon (guaranteed 5-star). If you get Guan Yinping, level her up first; she can carry you for quite a while. You can breeze through the early main quests mindlessly. I've been playing since launch and was ranked top 4 or 5 (top 3 in power, #1 in main story progress) when Guan Yinping reached 8 stars. Main story progress is similar; I'm still in the top 10. Currently top 100 in cross-server. Claim everything you can, and clear all dungeons. If you pull Hua Tuo, you'll soar ×1. Jiang Wei, you'll soar ×2. For bounties, prioritize Yuanbao. I recommend level 60+ bounties (unless you're really desperate, then 30 is okay). I've tested the 7-day target and confirmed you can get a generic 8-star Shu hero. Once you get the generic 8-star Shu hero from the 7-day target, you don't need to worry about it anymore, as you won't be able to star up Guan Yu without it (unless you're a big spender). After you get Guan Yinping to 8 stars as a new player, you likely won't be able to summon her anymore. If you can, great. If not, use whatever you summon. If you pull a core hero, think carefully about whether it's good or not. I pulled a lot of Xiao Qiao 🤣 Also, check the shop; you can buy popular heroes like Jiang Wei, Zhao Yun, and Hua Tuo. If you want to play for free, take a look, but you'll be short on Yuanbao. Be frugal, or at worst, you'll just have to idle more, which is fine 👍
