The People in the Wall 18 (Original Fiction, Suspense)

Chapter 18: The Killer Appears At 2:47 AM, Wang Jing'an was still in her consultation room, pondering the words: "Tomorrow, you'll know where Gao Jianguo went." She had initially thought Gao Jianguo was merely missing, but the next day, Officer Zhou brought news—Gao Jianguo was dead, and had been for the past few days. The body was discovered in the storage room of the old Gao family residence. There was no murder weapon at the scene, but a black ring was left behind. Wang Jing'an immediately thought of the mysterious K, but Officer Zhou believed the ring might be a clue deliberately left by the killer. During his interrogation, Gao Zhenxiang recalled his father taking him to the old house and pressing him about whether he remembered his brother. At that moment, a man wearing a black ring appeared, and upon seeing him, Gao Jianguo showed a look of fear. This further convinced the police that K had some unknown connection to the Gao family. As the police re-examined the scene, they found four small characters on the storage room wall: "Not brother." Just then, Wang Jing'an received a call from a mysterious man. He said, "Gao Jianguo wasn't killed by K." When she pressed him about the ring's owner, the man simply replied, "Gao Jianguo left it himself." At night, Wang Jing'an returned to her consultation room, and a ten-year-old photograph suddenly appeared on her desk. In the photo, Gao Zhenwei stood at the entrance of the basement, with a young Gao Zhenxiang beside him. The back read: "He's not dead." Subsequently, she received three more messages: "Gao Zhenwei is still alive." "K is not the killer." "The real reason Gao Jianguo was killed is in Teacher Zhang's hands." Wang Jing'an finally understood that Teacher Zhang and Gao Jianguo's deaths were no coincidence. Just then, a sound came from behind the wall.
