I've encountered something similar in other games before. After adding them on DC, they started saying that this game is already outdated and that other guild members are playing a different game, asking if I wanted to join. Then they'd throw a random, weird game at you and tell you to download it. I don't really get what they're trying to scam, the whole process feels fake, and you can tell it's a scam after just a couple of sentences.

Lots of games have this, they're scamming you into joining.
