Taiwanese infielder Li Hao-yu, playing for the Detroit Tigers, has been starting for the past two days (mostly batting second as a third baseman). In the game against the Dodgers on August 28th, he went hitless in 3 at-bats with 1 strikeout. However, in the bottom of the 8th inning with runners on first and third and two outs, he received his first career intentional walk, becoming the second Taiwanese player after Chin-Lung Hu to be intentionally walked. The Tigers ultimately lost the game 1-2. This season, he has played in approximately 89 games, batting .268 with 7 home runs and 33 RBIs, and an OPS of around .727, already surpassing Yu Chang's single-season hit record. He's been hitting consistently recently, often contributing strong hits and defense, and has become a core part of the Tigers' regular rotation.
