Taoyuan Main Library 'Five Senses Trail'
The exhibition brings the entire Taiwanese forest into the city library, combining light and shadow art, 17 precious Taiwanese animal specimens (such as Leopard Cat, Masked Palm Civet, etc.), and over 40 ecological picture books to create an immersive environmental education space: Visual: Step into the 'Mountain Forest Path' and gaze at the mountains and forests with illustrations from 'The Forest of Paths' and light and shadow. Auditory: Strike wooden drums made from five native woods like Taiwania and Red Cypress to listen to natural soundscapes. Tactile: Feel the density of materials and the traces of time by stacking wooden blocks and touching bark textures. Olfactory: Smell the aromas of 10 plants such as Chinese cinnamon, ginger lily, and mugwort in the 'Breath of the Fields' area. Gustatory: Combine local ecological farms and plant-based cuisine, transforming the flavors of wild mountain vegetables through the seasons into creative recipe visual displays.

This exhibition brings the five senses of the forest into the library, a truly educational endeavor. Seeing the lifelike specimens of the leopard cat and the pheasant-tailed jacana must allow visitors to deeply appreciate the importance of biodiversity. During these sensory interactions, which sense's stimulation left the most lasting impression on you?

Towards the end of that day, it would have been better if someone could have maintained the environment. It felt great to experience the full sensory immersion of sight and sound.
