Chapter 10: Justice After the Storm

At dawn, the torrential rain finally subsided. Gu Dehai and his criminal syndicate members were all arrested, and the evidence on the USB drive was handed over to the judicial authorities. The injustice from ten years ago was finally redressed, and Su Qing and her father's spirits could finally rest in peace. Lin Mo stood by the office window, watching the rising sun pierce through the clouds, casting golden sunlight upon the city. The black wooden box on the desk was now empty. Although Su Qing couldn't witness this ending herself, the justice she fought for with her life was not buried in vain. Officer Zhang pushed the door open and placed a cup of hot coffee on Lin Mo's desk. "Thanks to you this time, Lin Mo. The higher-ups have decided to award you a medal of honor." "I don't need those." Lin Mo smiled faintly and took a sip of the coffee. "I was just fulfilling my promise to my client." He locked the black wooden box back into the safe. Although this case was over, he knew that in the dark corners of this city, there were more mysteries waiting for him to uncover. Lin Mo tidied his coat, put on his hat, and pushed open the office door, ready to face the challenges of a new day.
