Midnight Diner ~ Steakhouse

Volume 61 Recap: Air conditioning only turns on 15 minutes before opening! (Guess! Check out the previous two posts!) This means no AC during this time... So today, when I went upstairs, before my uniform got soaked, I took off my shirt first... Suddenly, a voice appeared... on the stairs, Whoa! Dressed so lightly! I looked towards the voice and saw it was Xiao Jie from the kitchen! (Haven't introduced him before, he's the one from volumes 37-38) Me: What are you doing up here? Xiao Jie: The boss sent me up! To put the salad bar items and prepped ingredients into the fridge for you! Me: Thanks, I appreciate it! Seeing that I didn't directly respond about being half-dressed, he stayed upstairs for a bit, clearly understanding why! He didn't linger or make a fuss, and headed back to the kitchen after putting away the salad bar items! Xiao Pei and the others seemed to have heard Xiao Jie's call. After a moment, I felt someone on the stairs. I called out: Who's there? Xiao Pei peeked out, covering half her face: Why aren't you wearing a shirt... Me: Look at yourself, how can you say that? You're the one not wearing a shirt. I only took off my top. It's so hot, my clothes would get completely soaked and it would be uncomfortable later, so I had to do this! Xiao Pei, half-covering her face: I came up to see if you needed any help? If you do, I can help! Me: It's just you and me in the front of the house right now, how can you help?
