9/13 Diary: On Blind Admiration of Foreign Things (Some People Are Just Weird)
9/13 Today I saw someone refer to 'Capoo' (咖波) as 'Kabu'. I asked out of curiosity what translation that was, and they said they just typed it randomly (?). That's fine, but it's strange when someone knows Capoo is a Taiwanese IP and the creator is Taiwanese, yet later adopts the English pronunciation 'Capoo'. I find people who insist on 'going by the English pronunciation instead of the Taiwanese one' really peculiar, and their examples are bizarre too. Of course, I replied politely. I'm not saying learning foreign languages is bad, but we should remember our own language sometimes.

AuthorCharacter count: Before formatting it was 152/500 including punctuation. After formatting it's 165/500 including punctuation/spaces. Not sure if this character count meets the moderator's rules. (Seeing 152, I didn't dare to type more. You don't need to count this comment for me, just recording it.)

I love Capoo~ When I transferred departments, my colleagues gave me a big Capoo gift set. Now my keyboard and mouse are both Capoo themed (there was more than just this in the gift set). My new colleagues' impression of me is that I love Capoo 🤣

Actually, at the end of every YT video, there's about 1 second of 'wu~ Capoo' sound. And in English pronunciation, both 'o's are pronounced 'oo', where did this concept even come from 😂
