My family doesn't really celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, and we rarely have BBQs. For me, the Mid-Autumn Festival was the time when my retired dad used to make lots of sweet potato cakes and mung bean pastries. 😆 However, my family often gathers for meals during holidays. For example, we already have a banquet planned for the upcoming Double Ten Day. Today, we had a rare, spontaneous gathering at our old house for a BBQ, an event we haven't had in years. We gathered around 3 PM to start preparations, but it wasn't until almost 5 PM that we finally managed to get the fire going. 🤣 My takeaway is that BBQs are really not easy, and the smoke is super harsh! We wrapped things up around 7 PM and I got home by 7:30 PM. Over 30 relatives, young and old, came today. It was certainly lively... But my social energy got pretty much roasted along with the food. 🤣

My parents started their three-day, two-night trip yesterday. After finishing work today, I decided to take two hours of special leave and go home early to check on the cats and dogs. I was worried the cat might be lonely, and for the dog, I was afraid her kennel would be flooded with pee and poop🤣 Plus, I have a follow-up appointment at the hospital tonight, so I wanted to spend more time with them during the break. Last week, I had an ultrasound and blood test. Today, at the follow-up, the results showed improvement in all aspects, and my medication was adjusted from one pill daily to five pills a week. It's going smoothly 😁 The only problem was me🤣 Consultations started at 18:00 today. Looking at my number, I thought, 'It'll probably be a while~' so I left the hospital and wandered around. Unexpectedly, the calling of numbers was unusually fast today. Since I was walking, even when I realized something was wrong, I couldn't instantly rush back. I ended up successfully missing my turn 🙂 If I had just sat and waited obediently from the start, I probably would have finished before 19:00. Instead, I dragged it out myself and didn't finish until 20:30~ By the time I rode my bike home, it was already 21:00. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by— A grand chorus of the cat's wails and the dog's barks. It seems both of them had a lot of opinions about my schedule today🤣

After being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a while ago, I've been consistently taking medication for treatment, and today was the day for a follow-up at the hospital. I had a thyroid ultrasound and blood test scheduled, and I'll officially go back next week to see the results. After the ultrasound, the doctor briefly explained: my thyroid isn't enlarged, but there are still quite a few blood flow signals visible on the screen, indicating ongoing chronic inflammation. So, the conclusion is – it's not healed yet, keep taking the meds🫠 Once the treatment phase is over, it seems I'll need to get another ultrasound to confirm full recovery before it's considered finished. Since I was at the hospital, I also measured my blood pressure and heart rate. Seeing the numbers (systolic 98mmHg, diastolic 61mmHg), I wondered if my blood pressure might be a bit low?🤣 I asked GPT, and it said that if I'm not experiencing dizziness, fainting, or any other discomfort, such blood pressure doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. Come to think of it, I really don't feel anything. Well, I feel strong, so it should be fine💪😆

Today's OOTD

This morning at 4:30 AM, Fanta woke me up. I opened the blanket to let him in, and he immediately jumped onto my stomach. I suddenly felt like I had to go to the bathroom, but I looked at the time... Oh well, I decided to keep sleeping. Then Fanta started purring on my stomach, occasionally letting out a vibrating meow, so I groggily massaged his head. After a while, he suddenly jumped off, and since I hadn't slept at all, I decided to get up and go to the bathroom. When I returned to the room, he meowed again. I figured since I was already awake, I might as well scroll through my phone. Not long after, Fanta jumped back onto my stomach, stayed for a bit, then ran off again, wandering around the room and meowing occasionally. So fickle 🤣 After scrolling through my phone, I wanted to catch a last bit of sleep before work. As soon as I lay down, the darn cat came back and meowed, looking like he wanted to get into the covers. This time I had turned onto my side, so I only allowed Fanta to curl up in the little circle my body had made. He seemed to accept it, started kneading my stomach and purring, and finally seemed to fall asleep. As for me? I think I stayed awake all the way until the alarm was supposed to go off 🤣
