9/15 Diary | Went to the hospital for a check-up today🏥
After being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a while ago, I've been consistently taking medication for treatment, and today was the day for a follow-up at the hospital. I had a thyroid ultrasound and blood test scheduled, and I'll officially go back next week to see the results. After the ultrasound, the doctor briefly explained: my thyroid isn't enlarged, but there are still quite a few blood flow signals visible on the screen, indicating ongoing chronic inflammation. So, the conclusion is – it's not healed yet, keep taking the meds🫠 Once the treatment phase is over, it seems I'll need to get another ultrasound to confirm full recovery before it's considered finished. Since I was at the hospital, I also measured my blood pressure and heart rate. Seeing the numbers (systolic 98mmHg, diastolic 61mmHg), I wondered if my blood pressure might be a bit low?🤣 I asked GPT, and it said that if I'm not experiencing dizziness, fainting, or any other discomfort, such blood pressure doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. Come to think of it, I really don't feel anything. Well, I feel strong, so it should be fine💪😆

It must have been tough to keep undergoing treatment. Even if you don't feel any particular issues with your body, please pay close attention to resting and don't push yourself too hard. I'll be cheering you on here too.

Thyroid issues often require medication for a considerable period and regular follow-ups to prevent recurrence. If you have hyperthyroidism, your blood pressure should be fine as long as it's not excessively low. Watching lots of anime to keep your spirits up is the most important thing. Get well soon!

I also have hyperthyroidism. I lost over 10kg in a month. I was already a bit chubby, and I thought I'd successfully lost weight, but my mom thought something was wrong and dragged me to the hospital for a check-up. Turns out it was hyperthyroidism. By then, symptoms had appeared: severe weight loss, trembling hands, and a thick neck. The next symptom would be bulging eyes. After three months of steroid treatment, the eye bulging was barely under control. To avoid becoming a 'goldfish-eyed' person, I eventually opted for surgery to remove my thyroid. Post-surgery, I developed hypothyroidism and need to take medication for life to supplement the insufficient hormones (I've been on medication for almost 30 years). The price was gaining weight and finding it hard to lose it. My hands stopped trembling long ago, but my thick neck never went back to normal. It's great that you can manage it with medication. Keep it up, don't stress too much, and maintain a regular routine.
