Giant Salamander

This cute little creature is a successfully hatched giant salamander 👀 Currently, 5 species of giant salamanders are known in Taiwan, all of which are endemic. Some might think they'll never have anything to do with giant salamanders living in remote mountain streams, but we actually live in a shared ecosystem. The headwaters where they live are the source of all lowland streams; protecting the giant salamanders means protecting the water source, which in turn protects all life that uses this water. 📝 This month's magazine features a special report on giant salamanders, with content from Taiwanese contributing writers and photographers who visited and photographed them on-site.
