This often stems from parents' attachment to 'control,' even when their children are financially independent, they're still accustomed to viewing them as someone to protect. It's not just about spending, but a negotiation of authority between parent and child. Perhaps calmly communicating your financial logic could lead to improvement?

Elders often use their life experiences as a basis for helping younger generations. Those who had a tougher life might tell their children to save money, and those who were hurt emotionally might warn their kids to choose their partners carefully. Sometimes, they just want their children to avoid the hardships they faced. But how can children who haven't experienced these things understand their elders' intentions?
