Broccoli~Bug Crisis~So Fresh
For my first meal this afternoon, I decided to wash and eat a head of broccoli🥦 As I was washing it, I felt like there were quite a few bugs. They were small and black. Not like the plump, blue-green caterpillars I've encountered before🐛 Even after soaking in salt water, more bugs floated to the surface. After quite a bit of effort, I boiled it. To my surprise, over 10 more bugs came out in the boiling water. You really can't be too serious about eating broccoli. It's more about the concept of supplementing fiber and getting some protein. All I can say is... This vegetable is so fresh, has so many bugs, and is so troublesome🫠

Every time I buy broccoli, whether green or white, there are always bugs. It's so tiring to pick them out, so I stopped buying them. Now I just buy frozen ones, out of sight, out of mind 😅
I often check my broccoli and haven't seen any bugs either.

If you buy frozen stuff, you don't have to worry about it much lol. Flash freezing kills everything, so out of sight, out of mind.

Broccoli really has so many bugs. I once bought a green broccoli when it was first in season. It was about the size of my palm, and it took over an hour just to wash it. When I cut it into small florets, I saw even more bugs. I found over 20 little yellow-green worms in just one small floret. I kept getting goosebumps while washing it, so I haven't bought it since. I absolutely love green broccoli, but I gave up because picking out the bugs was too exhausting.

It's really high in protein, so it's fine however you cook and eat it after boiling.

That's novel! Washing broccoli is such a pain, I've given up on picking out bugs. If I don't see 'em, they aren't there!

Guess I'll just consider it extra protein 😅

Bugs mean less pesticide was used. I just use old toothbrushes to scrub them off, it's way easier~

I've bought it before, and if there were no bugs, it was just 1 or 2, not this many.
