I heard that most people choose to forgive after being betrayed and hurt by a lover, is that true? Can you really get over it emotionally? As time goes by, is his or her 'sorry' that they owe you the only reason you can truly let go? Otherwise, no matter how many years pass or how many relationships you have, the scars in your heart will always remain, never disappearing, never gone, never forgotten, just temporarily sealed away by you. So, if one day you stop loving them or they make a mistake, lower your head and don't forget to say 'sorry.' Doing so is a way to part amicably. Some might think it's just an excuse to break up, but looking back, if you were the one being broken up with, that 'sorry' from him or her could help you move on quickly. It's a lie to say you wouldn't be sad, but at least your heartache wouldn't last too long.

Can that 'I'm sorry' truly mend shattered trust? Sometimes, what we're really after isn't forgiveness, but simply a fair explanation. Perhaps what you can't let go of is also the inability to apologize to your own hurt self back then?

Still gotta let go, even though I'll still hate the other person, and probably hate myself for even getting to know them. If I don't let go, I can't get over that hump. Eventually, I have to move on and find someone better. Gotta believe in hope.
