At 5 AM, the darn biological clock woke this old uncle up right on time. The consequence of stubbornly staying in bed for 20 more minutes was skipping breakfast and rushing out the door with just my shoes on! Since this past Tuesday, the first bus route has quietly switched to a brand new 'electric bus'. I thought a new bus would mean a quiet and comfortable ride, but—I was wrong, and oh so wrong! The bus was already packed with energetic grandmas and aunties, chatting away like they were at a morning market: "Oh my! Why are there fewer seats after they changed the bus?" "What are those two tall boxes behind the driver for?" "Why is there so much empty space next to the front door? They could put chairs there!" Seeing the two giant battery boxes and the criticized space, I shrunk into a corner, trembling, not even daring to doze off. I remembered my wife's insightful interpretation: "Don't complain about the noise, it's their daily social gathering!" Well, with my stomach rumbling, this uncle started a miserable day as a corporate slave in this morning market filled with 'elderly energy'... Today's realization: New buses are technological progress, but the fighting power of aunties is always the strength of tradition!
