There's a very romantic rule in Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's works: the protagonist's birthday is the same as the date the novel started! Shen Qingqiu's official birthday is 9/21, and Scum Villain's Self-Saving System started on 2014/09/21 on Jinjiang. Wei Wuxian's official birthday is 10/31, and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation started on 2015/10/31 on Jinjiang. Following this pattern, people at the time joked that Xie Lian's birthday should be 11/41😂😂. However, Heaven Official's Blessing broke this rule, starting on 2017/06/16, while Xie Lian's birthday is the Zhongyuan Festival on 7/15, corresponding to the supernatural and ghostly settings in the story.
