The scorching sun pierced through the swimsuit shop's floor-to-ceiling windows. Kaplute, clad in a bright orange work vest ridiculously ill-suited for his frame, shivered behind the counter. As the most timid frog in the Kingdom of Alida, he never imagined he'd end up at this desert swimsuit shop not to escape the sun, but as an intern employee. "W-welcome..." Every time the automatic door sensor chimed, Kaplute's bulging eyes would widen in terror, his small green hands gripping the counter's edge, ready to dive under the desk at any moment. Just then, a burly, spiky desert lizard pushed the door open and gruffly asked, "Hey! Got any recommended anti-sunburn swim trunks?" Kaplute nearly jumped off the floor, his green hood slipping from his head. "D-don't eat me, don't eat me," he muttered frantically, trembling as he cautiously handed over a pair of the most conspicuous bright pink swim trunks. "Th-these... they have a lot of fabric... you definitely won't get sunburned..." he stammered, his voice barely a whisper. The lizard customer paused, looking at the quivering frog employee and then at the pink trunks. Finally, he burst into laughter and slapped the counter, "Interesting! I'll take these!" Only after the customer paid and left did Kaplute finally exhale in relief, slumping onto his chair, a puddle of frog. Although working as a shop assistant meant enduring countless "shocks" every day, seeing the shiny coins in the cash register made him feel like he'd become just a tiny bit braver—perhaps only a tiny bit.
