Saved the file, but it vanished?!

This long holiday, I experienced the ultimate nightmare of an office worker – a file I worked hard on for three days completely disappeared when I tried to open it on another computer! After spending the entire holiday rebuilding the file, I delved deep and discovered that the 'laptop's power-saving mode' and the 'external hard drive's caching mechanism' had conspired against me! Many people think that as long as a laptop is plugged in, it's safe. However, if 'power-saving mode' is enabled, the system, in its effort to conserve energy, quietly performs these two actions in the background: 1️⃣ USB Power Cut-off: The system assumes the hard drive is idle and automatically cuts off power to the USB. When you click save, the hard drive needs a few seconds to 'wake up,' making the transfer response sluggish. 2️⃣ 'Fake' Save Completion: When you click save, the computer, prioritizing speed, temporarily stores the data in the cache memory first and immediately displays 'Save Successful.' If you shut down quickly after this, the data might not have been fully written to the external drive before being interrupted and vanishing! Thought it was saved, but it was all in vain!
