[💣Minor Spoilers] Listening to Music & Discussing Anime: "Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite"

If you're interested in astronomy or history, I highly recommend this work. Adapted from Uozumi Fushi's manga of the same name, "Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite" (チ。-地球の運動について-). The title itself holds a clever meaning: 'Chi' (チ) can be read as 'Chi'kyuu (Earth), but also as 'Chi' (knowledge), 'Chi' (blood), or 'Jiyuu' (freedom). The '。period' at the end symbolizes celestial bodies, and combined with trajectory lines, it represents both the 'movement of the heavens' and the 'movement of the Earth'. The anime, with its 25 completed episodes, is only available on Netflix in Taiwan. The story is set in medieval P-country (Poland), where the C-religion (Catholicism) asserts the 'geocentric model' as the absolute truth of the universe. Those who attempt to refute the geocentric model are branded as heretics and persecuted by the church. Against this backdrop, a small group of people, in pursuit of truth, research and refine the 'heliocentric model'. As the narration states, "What must be offered to know everything about this world?" They dedicate their lives to the truth (heliocentric model) and strive to pass it down... This leads to unexpected outcomes for the characters who are central to the story. The opening theme song, "Kaijuu" (怪獣), features the lyrics: "Kono sekai wa aikou ni mi kansei, dakara shiritai n da..." (This world is conveniently incomplete, that's why I want to know...), expressing the main theme of the story. Both the 'geocentric' and 'heliocentric' theories are imperfect. Scholars from both sides sacrifice their lives or pride in their pursuit of truth, or seek knowledge from each other. Through the character Yolanda, the author states, "What is the definition of freedom? It's having the right to ask questions, just like you are now," prompting further reflection on the importance of freedom of speech.
