Anime "MAO" 🐈⬛☯️

The original work is a new manga by Rumiko Takahashi, the author of "Inuyasha." The first season of the anime, consisting of 26 episodes, has concluded, and a second season has not yet been announced. The story follows junior high school student Nanaka, who accidentally travels to the Taisho era and meets the onmyoji Mao. She gradually discovers a connection between the accident in her childhood, the abnormal power she possesses, and Mao's past 900 years ago. I don't mean to put down other works, but after watching it, "MAO" has become my favorite work by Rumiko Takahashi~ I really like how events from different eras intertwine in the story. Especially since Nanaka's modern era and Mao's era are not too far apart, the impact of the past is even more evident. Coupled with the mystery of 900 years ago, the overall relationships become increasingly complex—and I just love this kind of intricate weaving😆 The characters also make it hard to immediately distinguish friend from foe. As new information emerges, initial impressions might change again, and even solving one question might lead to more problems, which I find very appealing. Also, since the heroines in Takahashi-sensei's works have never really appealed to me, I was a bit wary at first (?). And it's true that I didn't have a great first impression of Nanaka. Instead, it was Mao's calm personality and Yuki Kaji's rare steady voice that kept me watching. But later, as the plot progressed, I grew to like their interactions more. Their relationship developed naturally, and Nanaka is also quite capable of fighting, not just a damsel in distress waiting to be saved😆 Among the supporting characters, Hyakka is quite cute~ Many mysteries remain at the end of the first season, and I'm looking forward to the sequel🥰
