Crying
😭 Why is it that when I cry, the tears just won't stop, and my nose starts running too? Have you ever noticed that while tears usually fall drop by drop, when you're really sobbing, it's like a 'faucet turned on' with tears pouring out, your nose gets stuffy, and snot just keeps flowing? Actually, this is related to the fact that our eyes and nose are connected. When we cry, our tear glands secrete a large amount of tears. Besides flowing out of the eyes, some of the tears also flow into the nasal cavity through the 'tear ducts'. When the volume of tears increases significantly, the nasal cavity gets stimulated, causing it to secrete more fluid. This is why you end up with 'tears and snot' flowing together. Furthermore, when people are sad, wronged, or emotionally agitated, their autonomic nervous system is also affected, increasing blood flow and secretory gland activity in the nasal cavity, which can lead to particularly abundant snot. So, it's not strange to have a runny nose when you cry; it's a very natural bodily response. Sometimes tears help us release emotions, and the snot is just tagging along the 'path of tears'. 🥹 Next time you're crying so hard your nose is running, don't feel embarrassed. It's just your body's natural way of helping you slowly release your emotions. ❤️

Oh, I see! I know it's a natural bodily response, but when you're feeling down, it really helps to have someone by your side. If you ever feel this way again, please make sure to talk to me!
