Cloudy Sky

The sky was like a gray wound that hadn't yet dried. Clouds folded light into silence. Daylight lost its name. The sky hung low, like a dream with no exit. Gray slowly rotted within the clouds. Light was forgotten on the back of the clouds. The world was steeped in a cup of lukewarm sky. Clouds were the sky's unfinished riddle. Shadows didn't fall, they just lived in the sky all along. The entire sky was like a mirror out of focus, reflecting nothing clear. It wasn't that there was no sun, but that the sunlight was being silent somewhere unseen. Cloud layers stacked up like weightless walls, separating world from world.
