First time donating blood...

Special thanks to Oudi and HT for their encouragement 🥰 Your actions inspired me to follow suit. I'm someone who gets dizzy from needles and my own blood, so overcoming the mental hurdle was really tough. The donation center was too far (90 mins by scooter), weekends are packed, and I thought I might be underweight... Various excuses kept making me back out 😞 Then last week, I saw HT's younger sister donating blood with her husband. I was shocked 😱. She's not in the best health, but she confirmed she could donate, which really moved me 🥹. Truly. She even found me a blood donation bus just a 30-minute drive away on a weekday. Despite being in Kaohsiung, she enthusiastically helped me in Taipei, so I had to go through with it 🤣🥹. The moment I stepped onto the bus, I genuinely wanted to run away, but a merciless nurse grabbed me and took me for a doctor's consultation. As expected, I started feeling dizzy during the process. The merciless nurse immediately raised the footrest to elevate my legs above my heart and lowered my shoulders. It really helped a lot, and now people facing similar situations will know how to handle it (knowledge++). Nurse: What did you have for breakfast? Me: Two hard-boiled eggs + 400cc of unsweetened black bean soy milk. The nurse heard this and furiously turned to the doctor, yelling, "Why did you let him donate if he only ate eggs!!!" Nurse: Sir, please have a proper breakfast next time you donate!! (She gave me a bag of candy). Me: It was my first time, I didn't know. I'll be careful next time, sorry 😞😞. Anyway, I'll donate blood in the future, but never here again. Amitabha.
