Around this time every month, my soul is basically in 'temporary offline' mode. This month, payday happened to fall on the 8th, and the time crunch was absolutely insane. For two whole days, my eyes were glued to endless attendance records, performance reviews, and payroll details, my fingers were practically cramping from tapping between the calculator and Excel, and my brain felt like it was about to smoke from overheating. Just as I was questioning my life choices and about to let out a primal scream, I suddenly had a change of heart— 'Wait a minute! Getting paid early is actually awesome, right? This means I'm 'condensing' the suffering I was supposed to endure over three days into just one day!' With that thought, I instantly felt at peace, even admiring my own wisdom in shifting my perspective. Then, in the very next second, after calculating the entire company's payroll, I casually opened my own payslip. '...Huh? I've been crunching numbers in the millions all day, how come mine is only this little bit?'
