The US State With the Most Volcanoes Isn't Hawaii, It's Alaska

When you think of volcanoes, most people immediately picture Mauna Loa or Kīlauea in Hawaii. However, Alaska actually has over 130 volcanoes, with more than 50 of them having actively erupted in the last century! Alaska's Aleutian Islands are situated right on the northern edge of the Pacific Ring of Fire, a 2,500 km long volcanic island arc that forms one of the most concentrated zones of volcanic activity on Earth.
