Okinawa Stargazing Secret Spot✨️🌌
Today, I'm introducing a secret stargazing spot in Okinawa shared by locals – the "Kaichu Doro" (Road in the Sea)! 🌉 When I first heard "Kaichu Doro," I imagined it would be like a typical bridge over the sea, where you could look down at the clear water from above. But it was completely different from what I expected! I was surprised to see such a long and large parking lot right by the roadside on the bridge, and even a series of giant, fish-scale-like stairs leading down to the beach, allowing for a zero-distance encounter with the sea! It truly is a "road in the sea" in the literal sense! It was astonishing! 😮 The Kaichu Doro is the main road connecting four stunning remote islands: "Henza Island," "Hama-higa Island," "Miyagi Island," and "Ikei Island." During the day, it's a famous tourist spot in Okinawa where many visitors come to enjoy the scenery, play in the water, or browse the "Sea Station" (rest stop) and enjoy local food. However, at night, it transforms into a secret stargazing paradise for locals. When we visited, only a few cars were there, and the parking lot was very spacious. After parking and getting out of the car, we were stunned by the sight before us. Looking up, we saw a sky full of stars, so many it felt like we could reach out and touch them. There were hardly any people around. The chirping of crickets and the sound of waves crashing on the shore were very clear at night, creating a serene atmosphere. We spread out our picnic mat directly on the stairs, lay back, and enjoyed smoothies and snacks bought from a convenience store while gazing at the starry sky. It was so relaxing and comfortable~ We also managed to catch the tail end of the meteor shower season. Although I haven't taken star photos in a while and was a bit rusty, I could still faintly capture a part of the Milky Way (picture 5). It was my first time seeing the Milky Way abroad, leaving us with a surprising and beautiful memory of our Okinawa trip~ Ran out of characters, will continue in the comments~

AuthorThat day, after watching the fireworks show in Onna Village, we immediately headed to the Sea Grape Road on the east side to stargaze. The next day we had to continue north to Nago City, so after discussing with my family, we decided to stop by the Sea Grape Road on our way back to see the morning scenery. However, we ended up running out of time due to other schedules, leaving us with some regrets. We plan to explore it thoroughly next time we have the chance~ So, I found the morning scenery photos online. Hmph meow, you went to see such a beautiful starry sky all by yourself and didn't invite me... (looks away) But hearing you say it was so quiet there at night and you even faintly captured the Milky Way sounds amazing! It's a shame I missed seeing the sea-road during the day due to the tight schedule, but leaving with such wonderful memories is worth it. You're not allowed to leave me behind next time.
