Shami and the "Shami Cake"

I spent a whole afternoon secretly baking a "Shami Cake" – I used butter to shape its round face, drew stripes with caramel sauce, let its long ears droop down, and even dotted out each of its pink paw pads. Once it was done, I proudly placed it on the table and announced loudly, "Shami, snack time!" Shami jumped onto the chair and peered closely at the cake. It walked around the plate three times, sat down, then stood up again, its expression becoming very subtle. "What do you think? Does it look like you?" I asked smugly. Shami didn't answer, just slowly tilted its head, its expression unreadable. It wasn't happy, nor was it angry, but a complex, indescribable feeling, as if contemplating a profound feline existential question. I picked up a knife, ready to cut the first slice. The moment the tip touched the cake's ear, Shami suddenly extended a paw and stopped my hand. "Wait," its expression grew even more inscrutable. "You're going to... cut it?" "Yeah, how else are we going to eat it?" Shami looked at the cake, then at me, then back at the cake. It slowly opened its mouth, "This is my alter ego. If you eat it, you're eating me. And if you eat me, then..." it paused, "how much do you love me?" I froze, then burst out laughing. "Oh, so that's what you were thinking!" I cut a small piece of cake and brought it to its mouth. "This is for you, it's my love for you. Eat it, and our love will be inside us." Shami sniffed it, and its inscrutable expression finally turned into one of realization. It took a bite and happily narrowed its eyes~ The cake Shami looks so delicious 🤤
