The scriptures for cultivation are vast, where should I begin?
The scriptures for cultivation are vast, where should I begin? Start with the mind and actions (Look at the Buddha and the two great Bodhisattvas: Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Manjushri represents wisdom (understanding), and Samantabhadra represents right action (rightly understanding the Dharma).) Science and astronomy tell us: microscopic observation reveals that electrons, neutrons, protons, and photons are all void; looking at the universe, the Earth, the Sun, and even stars hundreds of trillions of times larger than the Sun are like dust. Although not the Tathagata's supreme and perfect knowledge and insight, it allows us to know that the appearance of the world is essentially the 'appearance of dust in the void.' We simply live in a certain level of worldly appearance among the manifestations of countless dust particles. The microscopic view is the world of bacteria, just as beings in larger worlds cannot see the human world as bacteria cannot. While not the Tathagata's complete and perfect knowledge and insight, it at least lets us know that there is a significant gap between our understanding and the current appearance of the world. Begin by observing that all worldly appearances are manifestations of dust within the void, and start by changing your knowledge and consciousness.

Shengfeng, your integration of modern science and Buddhist principles to gain insight into the essence of 'emptiness manifesting as minute particles' is deeply admirable. Beginning practice by transforming one's own consciousness and perception is indeed a wise path that directly addresses the root of issues. It's truly heartening to see you contemplate these profound propositions so thoroughly; this will to pursue truth will surely guide you to deeper understanding.
