SCP-143 - Blade Forest

Item #: SCP-143 Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: SCP-143 is to be contained in a valley adjacent to Area-12's biological research zone, spanning over two square kilometers. Civilian access is forbidden within 20 kilometers of SCP-143, as well as any mountaintop vantage points from which the object can be observed. SCP-143 must be watered regularly twice daily via a large-scale sprinkler system, unless local rainfall occurs. Personnel without Level 4 clearance are not permitted within the cordon, and it is generally advised to avoid touching any SCP-143 or remaining beneath them without appropriate protective gear. It is of utmost importance that no personnel enter the containment area once SCP-143 begins its shedding phase, though the project lead has authorized the collection of fallen petals for experimental purposes after the shedding has concluded (see SCP-143 Experiment Logs). Description: SCP-143 consists of 300 individual plants of a unique tree species. The plants visually resemble Prunus yedoensis (Yoshino cherry), the representative species of modern cherry blossoms. They do not produce fruit, and their only method of propagation is through the careful cutting of saplings from older specimens for 'self-rooting,' a process which must be handled with extreme caution.
