SCP-144-The Tibetan Sky Rope
Item #: SCP-144 Object Class: Safe Special Containment Procedures: SCP-144 requires only a single Foundation observer on-site to monitor and report on its current status. The associated Tibetan Buddhist monastic community will continue to live their lives in the area, remaining unknown to the outside world. The hill where SCP-144 is located lies in a small valley between the peaks of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. The area is perpetually shrouded in thick fog, and the rope is barely visible to the naked human eye from 3 kilometers away. Airspace within a 70-kilometer radius has been designated a no-fly zone with the cooperation of the Chinese government. Description: SCP-144 is located in a monastery on a small hill in Tibet. It is a thin, taut hemp rope with a diameter of only 1.2 cm. One end is tied to a jade ring fixed to the ground in the monastery's courtyard (nicknamed 'Base Camp' by researchers); the other end extends vertically into the sky for tens of thousands of meters, connecting to an unexplored geostationary satellite approximately 39 kilometers above the ground (nicknamed 'Summit' by researchers).
